Thank you for your interest in graduate studies in the Department of Physics at Arizona State University! We are excited to offer students a unique graduate experience within our modernized and interdisciplinary graduate program. We aim to provide a customized program for each student, with research components from the very first semester. The department’s internationally recognized research covers a broad range of topics at the cutting-edge. We have vigorous Ph.D. and Master’s level research programs in:
  • Biological Physics
  • Electron Diffraction and Imaging
  • Nanoscale and Materials Physics
  • Particle Physics and Astrophysics
Arizona State University, a Research-I institution, is one of the largest universities in the US, with over 60,000 students. The Phoenix area is home to many high-tech industries with major research/fabrication facilities; examples include Motorola, Intel, Honeywell, and Boeing.
